International Adoption Programs

Where you are located helps determine what services we are able to provide to you. Rest assured, if you are in the United States, we can help. If you are a U.S. citizen living abroad, we can also help you adopt from most of the countries we serve.

With offices in Colorado, Indiana, Utah and Florida, we are a full-service placing agency able to walk you through the adoption process from start to finish. That means home study, training, dossier preparation, child match referrals, travel, placement, post-placement visits and support, adoption validation (and everything in between!) all rolled into one seamless package.

For residents within the other 46 states, or US citizens living abroad, we are able to serve as your primary placing agency, meaning that we will guide you through the process of submitting your Dossier, getting matched with a child, travel planning and all of the little (but important!) details in between. For these cases, Hand in Hand will simply coordinate with an accredited agency in your home state to ensure that your training, home study and post-placement processes go smoothly.

If you already have a primary/placement agency, then we can still help by providing your local training, home study and post-placement services for residents in Colorado, Indiana, Utah and Florida.

Countries We Currently Work With Include:

Brazil Country Outline Flag.png

Brazil is the largest country and economy in Latin America, but exhibits a disparity of income with 10% of the population possessing 47% of the national income. Brazil has an estimated population of approximately 209.4 million people and 200,000 children and youth living in institutions. Poverty is the primary factor causing children to be placed in orphanages and shelters.

Bulgaria Country Outline Flag.png

The Republic of Bulgaria is a diverse country of 7.3 million people, bordered by Romania, Serbia, Macedonia, Greece, Turkey and the Black Sea. The majority of the people are of Bulgarian ancestry, but there are many minority groups represented, most notably the Turkish and Roma population. The official language is Bulgarian, the oldest written Slavic language.

Haiti Country Outline Flag.png

Haiti lies approximately 50 miles southeast of Cuba and is considered part of the West Indies. Haiti’s culture is a vibrant mixture of African, French, Indian, British and Spanish influences. Due to the political unrest and dire economic circumstances, there are many beautiful children who become available for adoption.

Post-Adoption Coaching

Sometimes minor challenges come up, and you don’t have all the answers. Hand In Hand has been there, and we’re here to help you weather the storm.

Let Hand In Hand be a resource to you

Hand In Hand will connect you with one of our experienced adoption professionals to help you work through common adoption related challenges. Our professionals have all spent years helping families through the adoption journey, and in many cases have experienced those challenges first hand. We can help provide you with the skills, resources and support you and your child need to move forward. Coaching specialties include: communication, attachment issues, unexpected diagnoses, special educational needs, adopting from a disruption, birth history searches, behavioral issues, post-adoption struggles, parenting LGBTQ children, and many more.

Coaching sessions are held through video chat and can be scheduled on an as-needed basis. After a free initial consultation, your coach will develop a personalized strategy for your family. The subsequent coaching session typically lasts about 60 minutes, and may include a referral to other professional resources in your area.

The fee for each session is $75.
