Hand In Hand Announces New Program
MaryLee Lane, Founder and CEO of Hand In Hand International Adoptions, along with our entire staff, are proud to announce the addition of another international adoption program, with the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, People’s Republic of China. Hand In Hand is partnering with International Social Services-Hong Kong, one of Hong Kong’s leading social service organizations, and officially received approval by the Central Authority of Hong Kong to conduct inter-country adoption effective April 1, 2021.
Hand In Hand’s program will be led by Hong Kong Program Director Pam Thomas, who also serves as the Program Director for Hand In Hand’s China Program. Pam is a veteran adoption professional, with over 25 years of service to the adoption world primarily serving programs in China.
Hand In Hand’s Hong Kong adoption program looks to match children ages 1 to 15 years, all of whom are deemed to have “special placement needs” with American families. Special placement needs may include special medical or developmental needs, children with a history of birth family issues, and some older children who have no apparent medical problems. Applicant families must be over 25 years of age, married for a minimum of 3 years (or minimum of 5 years if there is a divorce in the past), and be in good physical and mental health. Single women may apply if able to show evidence of child care experience and a strong support network.
