For families in those states, we provide the complete adoption package: home study, training, dossier preparation, child match referrals, travel coordination, placement, post-placement visits, and ongoing support. For families in all other states and U.S. citizens living abroad, we serve as the primary placing agency and coordinate with an accredited local agency for home study, training, and post-placement or post-adoption requirements.

We guide you through dossier submission, child matching, travel, and all details in between. Adoption does not end at finalization. Hand in Hand connects families with experienced adoption professionals — most of them adoptive parents themselves — for coaching on challenges including:
Training
Hand in Hand provides the 10-20 hours of required adoptive parent training. Training covers immigration, the home study process, types of children available, attachment and bonding, transracial and transcultural adoption, medical considerations, core issues in adoption, parenting skills, and more. Families in states where Hand in Hand is not licensed complete training through their local home study agency though they can also access all free Hand in Hand courses at any time before, during, and after their adoption.
Lifelong Community
Bringing your child home is the beginning of a lifelong commitment. Hand in Hand families connect with each other at trainings, events, summer camps, and through social media.
